Hormones, Menstrual Cycles & pms
Women’s hormones are seen as a network of Qi and Blood flow, especially in the Liver, Spleen and Kidney channels. By modulating the flow of Qi (more yang in nature and closely linked to progesterone and testosterone) and Blood (more yin in nature and closely linked to estrogen, menstrual blood and fluids), Chinese Medicine can:
Regulate hormones and the HPG axis (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Gonadal axis)
Normalize dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea and menorrhagia, irregular bleeding
Address PCOS, endometriosis and more with hormone regulation
periMenopause & menopause
Menopause and perimenopause are natural processes and can be experienced as a seamless transition with appropriate care. Chinese Medicine brings balance to your hormones and alleviates:
Hot flashes and sweats
Mood swings
Anxiety
Sleep issues
Vaginal dryness/tissue thinning
Low libido
Fertility & Conception
Fertility issues grow more common, and Chinese Medicine can support your needs, either in conjunction with ART and IVF or on your own first. Chinese Medicine has shown to:
Increase blood flow to the uterus
Reduce anxiety and stress
Regulate menstrual cycle and ovulation
Regulate the HPG (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Gonadal) axis which regulates reproductive hormones
Pregnancy & Post-Partum
Chinese Medicine can prove vital during the first trimester of pregnancy, manage other symptoms through the second and third trimesters and provide focused healing and recovery in the “Fourth Trimester.” Many women shed their skins as individuals when they become mothers, and I’d like to gently remind them that their health is just as important as their beautiful newborns’.

Custom herbal medicine
Chinese Medicine dates back over 2000 years. The earliest surviving medical text, Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon), dates to around the 2nd century BCE, though it is believed to have been compiled from earlier oral traditions and knowledge. These texts describe theories of health and disease, diagnostic methods, herbal remedies, acupuncture techniques, and other therapeutic practices that were likely developed and refined over preceding centuries.
Built upon a 2000 year old foundation and 2000 year old herbal prescriptions, scholars of Chinese Medicine have studied and extrapolated the use of ancient medicine for modern conditions, case studies, and people. I had the privilege to study and learn from some of these modern scholars: Steve Woodley, Heiner Fruehauf, Sally Rappeport, Sharon Weizenbaum, and Genevieve Le Goff. Steve Woodley ushered me into the beautiful world of herbal medicine, and I have since taken courses with Heiner Fruehauf, Sharon Weizenbaum, Sally Rappeport and Genevieve Le Goff.
I am deeply passionate about the way in which Chinese herbal medicine understands the human body and can explain symptoms that may seem unrelated, or diagnose a condition as a "system" rather than a disease. Chinese herbal medicine seeks to understand and treat each person as an individual. I seek the same.

Facial acupuncture
Empresses and concubines of the first imperial dynasty of China (Qin Dynasty, 221-206 BCE) used facial acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture, to maintain their youth, beauty and radiance. It has since been used in China, Korea, Japan, and collects a growing interest in the United States as a noninvasive approach to aging gracefully and feeling beautiful inside and out.
Facial acupuncture promotes fresh blood flow and circulation in the face, stimulates collagen production and cell regeneration. As a result, it reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture, muscle tone, and sculpts the face. It's a safe and natural way to maintain a vibrant, youthful appearance.
Licensed acupuncturists who perform facial acupuncture also treat underlying issues to support the efficacy and overall health of the skin. Such treatment may include supporting detox processes, and lymphatic drainage, and/or diet, lifestyle, stress management recommendations. It is now known that diet, lifestyle and stress levels affect aging at the cellular level.
LED light therapy utilizes proven wave-lengths of light to stimulate collagen production, reduce inflammation and accelerate tissue repair. The type of light will be tailored to your individual needs.
Please note, this practice is not like Botox, fillers or a surgical facelift. Results are not instant. But there are no real side effects or risks, other than the potential for bruising at the needle sites.
A complete series of facial acupuncture includes 12 consecutive, weekly sessions for optimal results. Monthly maintenance is recommended thereafter, depending on the individual.
microneedling
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a safe and effective method to boost collagen and elastin production for youthful skin. By creating microchannels--or, microtraumas--the body stimulates collagen and elastin while increasing the absorption of selectively chosen topicals by 2000%. This remodels and resurfaces the skin, improving skin texture, tone and pigment, reducing wrinkles and acne scars.
The microneedling pen is an electric device with single use cartridge comprised of fine, sterile needles. For best results, expect treatments 1x month for 6 months. Studies show results lasting up to 5 years.
